[Selangor, Malaysia, November 2024] – After a successful debut with Dwi Emas International School last year, Squid Academy and Ace Edventure School Group are continuing their partnership by introducing a 12-Module High School Esports Program at Sri Emas International School. This program aims to provide students with meaningful opportunities to explore careers within the growing esports industry while developing transferable skills that can benefit them in various fields.
A Practical Approach to Learning Through Esports
The esports program at Sri Emas goes beyond gameplay, giving students hands-on experience in areas like event planning, IT support, content creation, graphic design, and more. The curriculum is designed to combine classroom learning with practical application, including projects such as creating a promotional video or organising school tournaments and more.
“Our goal is to make learning relevant and exciting for students while also preparing them for real-world challenges,” said Stuart Patton, Global CEO of Ace Edventure School Group. “This partnership is about showing how education and esports can work hand in hand.”

Meeting Students Where They Are
With esports now a billion-dollar industry and an audience of over 500 million globally, the collaboration reflects a growing recognition of the value of skills learned through gaming. By including roles like community manager, health and wellness coach, and even sports psychologist, the program offers students a variety of paths to explore, both in and out of esports.
“We’re not just teaching students how to play; we’re giving them tools to think critically, collaborate effectively, and communicate with purpose,” said Steyn Van Hovell, CEO of Squid Academy.

What the Program Includes
The 12 modules, spread over several years, introduce students to the inner workings of the esports world while focusing on broader skills like teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving. Each module includes practical projects, supported by Squid Academy’s online platform, which offers video lessons, assessments, and personalised learning tools.
The first modules will cover:
The first module introduces students to Rocket League and supporting roles such as Coach, Health & Wellness Advisor, and Social Media Manager. In Module 2, the focus shifts to popular mobile esports titles like Arena of Valor and Honor of Kings, expanding the roles to include Community Manager, Esports Journalist, and Fan Engagement Specialist. Subsequent modules follow the same structure, pairing a trending esports title with relevant supporting roles to keep the curriculum engaging, relevant and robust.
