We’re proud to announce that Squid Academy is officially partnering with Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (DEPA) to deliver a new wave of esports education programs as part of the country’s national digital upskilling initiative. This initiative is being supported and amplified through our exclusive regional partner, Squid Esports Thailand.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in our mission to make esports education more accessible, more relevant, and more impactful across Thailand and the Southeast Asia region.
A National-First, Built Exclusively for depa
This initiative involves the development of entirely new, DEPA-exclusive esports education content—purpose-built from the ground up to serve Thailand’s national education and workforce goals. It’s not just localisation; it’s a strategic response to the growing demand for accredited digital skills, powered by the esports ecosystem.
We’re Not New Here
While this project is uniquely tailored for DEPA, it builds on a strong foundation we’ve already established across Thailand—together with our regional partner, Squid Esports Thailand. Squid Academy currently delivers accredited esports education to a growing network of high schools, including—but not limited to—provinces like Chonburi and Khon Kaen. We’re also preparing to launch a for-credit university-level esports program in collaboration with one of Bangkok’s leading universities—another first for Thailand.
Building the First Esports Pod in Thailand
Alongside our academic work, Squid Esports Thailand is currently developing the country’s first-ever Esports Pod—a purpose-built physical space designed exclusively for player-focused esports education. The Pod will be fully outfitted with Squid Academy’s Pro Programs, offering aspiring competitive players access to elite training and learning environments built around real career pathways.
Why It Matters
Esports is more than just competition—it’s a modern gateway to real-world skills. From production and shoutcasting to digital storytelling, teamwork, and live event coordination, esports offers a rich learning ecosystem that prepares students for futures in creative, technical, and collaborative fields.
Through this collaboration with DEPA, we’re proud to help position Thailand as a regional leader in educational innovation through gaming.
Let’s Connect
We’re just getting started—and there’s much more to come. If you’re an educator, policymaker, or organisation looking to bring esports learning to your institution, or be part of this growing national movement, we’d love to hear from you.
